Happy Friday!

I hope this email finds you safe and well.

ML Contests Discord

We’re excited to announce the launch of our shiny new ML Contests Discord Server! We’ve had many people asking us for a way to find others to collaborate with, and to get alerts about new competitions. Discord is the perfect way to do that and more. We hope this will become a useful meeting point for the competitive ML community, and already have members from the AIcrowd, Zindi, DrivenData, and bitgrit teams who have joined us there.

If you’d like to find teammates or get a notification whenever we add a competition to the site, join us in the Discord server now!

Live Competitions

There are 11 competitions currently live across Kaggle, AIcrowd, Coder One, and DrivenData with a total prize pool of over $1m:

Cloud GPU Comparison

Since we launched our Cloud GPU Comparison page mid last year, we’ve had feedback from several users and cloud providers, and we now list 10 providers with a total of almost $1000 in free credits available across them. With GPU prices still going up, cloud GPUs can be more effective than ever before!

Looking Back

Last year we did an in-depth analysis of 100+ competition winners in 2020, and found that 80% of winners were first-time winners and 70% of winners who used deep learning used PyTorch (you can find the full write-up with more findings here). We’re now starting our analysis of 2021’s competitions. Hop in to our Discord or reply to this email to let us know if there’s anything you want us to look at.

That’s it from us for now. All the best for 2022!
